Ciudad del Carmen is the head of the municipality of Carmen, Campeche. It is located southwest of the Yucatan peninsula, in the west part of the Isla del Carmen, which is located between the Gulf of Mexico and Laguna de Terminos. It has a port area located at the entrance of Laguna de Términos, between the estuary of La Caleta and the Gulf of Mexico. The port consists of an access channel and three docks, around which there are 17 berths.

Dos Bocas is an oil, industrial, commercial and international port, located in the Mexican state of Tabasco. It was built by the Mexican oil company Petroleos Mexicanos in 1979, beginning operations in 1982 and today, is one of the most important oil ports in Mexico due to its cargo volumes and the number of vessels it serves.
The port of Dos Bocas is located in the municipality of Paraíso and is less than 10 km from the city of Paraíso, which is the municipal capital, and 80 km from the city of Villahermosa, the state capital.
